"We never thought this album would see the light of day again, and it was the only Smugglers album out of our eight or nine that never got released on vinyl. As a vinyl band from Day One, that was always a regret of ours but I never thought anything would come of it. But then thirty years later, along came our friend Alex Botkin from Lava Socks Records. I give him credit for actually getting the Smugglers back together after a 13 year break, back in 2017, to play the 30th anniversary of 924 Gilman in Berkeley. That led to about five or six other Smugglers shows I never thought would happen. Then Alex stepped up and offered to put out 'In The Hall of Fame' on vinyl for the first time ever, so it's a pretty special, lucky thing that these songs get to 'officially' see the light of day again thanks to him. The record did well when it first came out back in 1993: number 1 on campus and college radio in Canada and up there in the States as well, and it contains a lot of our audiences' most favourite songs, like "Rock n Roll Was Never This Fun", "Vancouver BC", "Flying Buttress of Love" and "Shakedown". It got remastered by our good friend Mass Giorgini out of Sonic Iguana in Indiana, too. It sounds HOT! Can't wait for rock n roll fans to rediscover this one or hear it for the first time."
